After dominating Double A pitching in 2025 Jones then 24 years old was promoted to Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he played as an outfielder.
In 2025, Jones had an OPS of.932 and a.274/.362/.571 line across both minor league levels. In addition, he drove in 80 runs and hit 35 home runs.
At the Italian American Baseball Foundation Gala in the Bronx on Thursday night, Jones told SNY's Michelle Margaux, "The biggest thing for me was being able to be more consistent month-to-month." "A great deal of confidence and something I'm excited to introduce next year."
After struggling at Double A in 2024 Jones had a strong season. He attributes his consistency to a shift in his swing which he is still honing this offseason in anticipation of spring training.
He stated, "I learnt a lot about my swing, changed some things, and going into this offseason is just cleaning up some of the things that went wrong and moving into this next season."
With Cody Bellinger gone, the Yankees have a void in left field aside from Aaron Judge in right field and Trent Grisham, who accepted the qualifying offer, in centre. Bellinger's return is not guaranteed, despite the Yankees' ongoing efforts, which means Jones and other young players like Jasson Dominguez have a shot to get hired this spring.
At the Yankees' October end-of-season news conference, general manager Brian Cashman stated that Jones "put himself in the conversation" to be included on the roster, and the outfield prospect is preparing to earn it.
Jones explained his thinking in response to a question about how he could get ready to contend for a roster place.
"Trying to convince them of all the reasons you ought to be there," he remarked. It's important to be as competitive as you can and show them how much you want it and that's what I'm going to do when I go into camp.
