Lando Norris shares a heartfelt message for supporters in his first vlog after winning the Formula One title

Following his victory in the 2025 drivers' championship Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has released his first vlog. Giving the driver's admirers a well-deserved debrief he discussed his feelings while leading his McLaren to a third-place result in Abu Dhabi.

In the video, Norris calls the week before the season finale "the biggest race of my life," adding that he "didn't know how to act" as he prepared for a minimum third-place finish that would enable him to win the championship by defeating teammate Oscar Piastri and Red Bull rival Max Verstappen.

"Winning something is almost every boy's desire, and when you're young, you constantly hope or dream that you'll win it someday, but you never really believe that you can. In front of the FIA prize-giving event in Uzbekistan, he said to the camera, "We did it."

"I didn't know how to be in the week before the biggest race of my life. I had no idea how to behave. I had no idea how I was supposed to be.

"I wasn't sure if I was supposed to feel a lot of excitement or fear. Since I get anxious at every race and qualifying, I assumed I would be extremely anxious. That is a typical occurrence. For me, it would be a little too hectic.

However, I felt rather prepared when I got in the car. I was at ease. I felt prepared for another day at work. I was nevertheless aware that "this is it and the time had come."

After a close chase between the Briton and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, the McLaren driver secured his first Formula One championship at Yas Marina, finishing behind Verstappen and Piastri. The 26-year-old, however, had a lot more to offer as he won the championship by two points after sailing his Woking machinery across the finish line.

The feeling was authentically that of a typical race. However, there are still two laps left before time begins to slow down. You begin to consider every tiny wire, bolt, and screw. I'm picturing what's going on inside my car.

The thought, 'damn what could go wrong?' is on your mind because everything is going well. These minor details begin to cross your mind. I've recently been thinking about my first go-kart experience. We put some slicks on the go-kart and I was just having fun doing some doughnuts on a sort of miniature tennis court."

In the garage, his folks were waiting. Cisca Wauman, his mother, was crying.

"Suddenly I saw my mother in the garage. For the first time in the entire year I was just beginning to comprehend what was happening and what was about to happen. For the last four corners all I could do was visualise the garage and my parents, brother and sisters there.

The driver, who called the moment "unforgettable" now sits with other F1 champions like Lewis Hamilton, Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher.

He tells his admirers "Thank you very much" expressing his appreciation. "Representing you and doing my best for you each and every weekend has been a pleasure. I appreciate you being there for me. And as I go hold the trophy I'll be thinking about everyone who has shared in this trip with me."
