Ten-man PSG score late winner to reclaim Ligue 1 summit with 2-1 victory over Strasbourg

Paris Saint-Germain claimed a 2-1 win at Strasbourg despite playing with 10 men for the final stages. Nuno Mendes headed the winner from a Warren Zaïre-Emery corner in the 81st minute. The result moved PSG to 48 points from 20 matches and two points ahead of Lens.

Senny Mayulu opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after Bradley Barcola set him up inside the box. The goal came two minutes after Strasbourg's Joaquín Panichelli missed a penalty saved by Matvey Safonov. Guela Doué leveled five minutes later with a finish from Ben Chilwell's cross.

Strasbourg pressed early and created chances. Diego Moreira tested Safonov in the 14th minute. The penalty award followed a VAR review for Marquinhos handling Abdoul Ouattara's shot.

Achraf Hakimi received a second yellow in the 75th minute upgraded to red after VAR checked his challenge on Panichelli. PSG held firm under pressure. Désiré Doué and Hakimi created opportunities before the sending-off.

Safonov preserved the draw at halftime with further stops. Substitute Lee Kang-in shot wide after the break. PSG regained control despite the numerical disadvantage.

Strasbourg mounted late attacks. Guela Doué headed wide from Moreira's corner in the 84th minute. Martial Godo had efforts blocked and missed in stoppage time.

PSG returned to league action four days after a 1-1 Champions League draw with Newcastle. The win restored their position at the top after dropping points in Europe. Strasbourg stayed seventh on 30 points.
