Mike Vrabel addresses Patriots ahead of Super Bowl week.
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel held a team meeting Tuesday to outline Super Bowl preparations against the Denver Broncos. Vrabel emphasized focus on daily execution as his squad eyes the franchise's seventh Lombardi Trophy. The former Titans coach enters his first year with New England after guiding them to a 10-7 regular season mark.
Patriots defeated Broncos 10-7 in the AFC Championship Game last Sunday. Vrabel became just the second person to reach the Super Bowl as both player and head coach for the same team. He won three rings with New England as a linebacker from 2001-08.
Vrabel spent six seasons with Tennessee from 2018-23. Titans posted 56-48 record including three playoff berths before firing him after back-to-back losing campaigns. He joined Patriots this season and turned around a struggling roster immediately.
Players credit Vrabel's direct leadership style for the quick turnaround. Wide receivers coach Todd Downing called him a vision caster who demands accountability. Patriots opened as three-point favorites for Super Bowl LX in New Orleans.
Vrabel downplayed his return to Tennessee earlier this season. Patriots won that matchup convincingly as Vrabel's old club continued its rebuild. His defensive identity carries over from Titans days with emphasis on effort and disruption.
