Am Racing has pulled out of this weekend's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Rockingham which is surprising. Nick Sanchez was going to drive the No. 25 Ford Mustang as he has done all season long in 2026. There hasn't been a reason given yet.
The team has run every O'Reilly race this year. Sanchez came in a strong third place in Atlanta but in the first seven races of the year they only finished higher than 25th once more. Sanchez came in 25th in driver points.
This year, the team has also put Daniel Dye in a second car for a few races.
There are now only 38 cars on the entry list for Rockingham because Am Racing has pulled out. This means that no one will miss the race. The only Ford team that will be racing this weekend is the No. 25 Hettinger Racing Ford Mustang, which J.J. Yeley will drive.
This is just one more bad month for Sanchez. He unexpectedly lost his full time job with Big Machine Racing during the off-season and he only got this new deal with Am just before the new season started.
In 2025, Am Racing made it to the driver playoffs with Harrison Burton and came in 13th in the owner's championship.
