The Legacy Motor Club has hired an executive from JGR to be the new president of the team

Michael Guttilla is now the president of Legacy Motor Club and this is official.

For the past twenty years, Guttilla has worked for the global engineering company Multimatic. He was the Vice President of Engineering and R&D and the Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. He also worked for Mechanical Dynamics Inc. and General Motors during his career.

He was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Jimmie Johnson, the owner of Legacy and a seven-time Cup Series champion said Michael's leadership and technical skills will be a huge help as we keep building the future of Legacy Motor Club. We're happy to have him join the Club because he knows both the competitive and business sides of this sport.

John Hunter Nemechek's No. 42 and Erik Jones's No. 43 are the two chartered entries for Legacy Motor Club right now.

Guttilla said "I've been very lucky to work with leaders and mentors who put their time knowledge and trust in me. Coach Gibbs and the whole Joe Gibbs Racing team are the most recent examples of that support. Before that it was the founder and teammates at Multimatic. I'm honored to be able to share my experiences with the amazing team that Jimmie and Cal have put together and to help carry out and speed up Jimmie's mission, vision and values for Legacy Motor Club.

Guttilla went on to say "I'm also excited to keep working closely with TRD." "The 'coopetition' spirit they encourage among Team Toyota partners makes everyone work harder and makes the whole program stronger. Our goal is to create an organization and culture that can compete for wins and championships year after year.

Both JGR and Legacy helped Guttilla move. Joe Gibbs said We really appreciate Michael's leadership and guidance over the past few years. We are glad that he will still be able to help the Toyota family in his new role.
