Williams F1 joins forces with Marvel for groundbreaking comic collaboration

Williams has announced a new collaboration with Marvel that will feature James Vowles, Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon alongside iconic superheroes in a first-of-its-kind comic.

Williams Racing has announced a new partnership with Marvel, with a first-ever comic featuring the team’s principal James Vowles and drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.

The Grove outfit said the Williams trio will “team up with Marvel heroes to fight Doctor Doom as he threatens to bring down the racing calendar”. Marvel stars that are set to be included are Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America.

The comic will be available online in early June and is currently available for pre-order. Special edition covers will be available for certain F1 events, like the Monaco Grand Prix. If you prefer to shop in person, the comic will be in stores throughout the United States in October.

“Alex and Carlos are already heroes to our millions of fans and now they get to prove it in print by uniting with the Marvel Super Heroes to save racing from Doctor Doom,” said Williams Director of Merchandise and Licensing Luke Timmins. We’re proud to be bringing these two universes together for the first time and hope it provides fans with another way to discover and fall in love with our iconic Atlassian Williams F1 Team. There’s no better place to launch a unique collaboration like this than Miami, and with special edition covers for races around the world the story is just beginning.”

On social media, Vowles added: "I'm really thrilled to share that Atlassian Williams F1 Team and Marvel have today announced a collaboration, which will see us go wheel to wheel with the Marvel Universe for the very first time.Fans will be able to celebrate this collaboration with special edition covers at multiple Grands Prix throughout the season starting in Monaco and on shelves at comic shops across the U.S. in October. Well done to everyone involved a landmark moment for the team.”
