Sky Sports Formula 1 expert Martin Brundle has spoken out about his bizarre experience with American TV star Jimmy Fallon in the pre-race grid walk before the Miami Grand Prix.
The Miami International Autodrome has been a magnet for famous faces on the grid and in the paddock, and the 2026 edition of the event was no different.
Brundle caught sight of the Tonight Show host as he made his way through the crowds on the grid before the race. But instead of a normal interview turning into a thing, Fallon grabbed the microphone from the former F1 driver and bit the cover.
Brundle got the microphone back quickly and said: “Don’t do that again.
Brundle went on to tweet: "In 30 years of broadcasting I’ve never wondered what a branded microphone sock tastes like. There’s some very funny people around."I love that these celebrities get flustered when Martin comes on, it's nice to see they recognize you," wrote one fan. "Your interviews are always top entertainment Martin!" added another.
Fallon was a guest of Red Bull and Racing Bulls at the Miami Grand Prix. Brundle’s pre-race grid walk has become a fan-favourite moment of F1 race weekends and the moment with Fallon has joined a long entertaining line of memorable moments.
Other highlights have been rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s security posse at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Cara Delevingne’s awkward interview snub at the British Grand Prix and Machine Gun Kelly’s strange air guitar moment at the Brazilian GP.
Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli claimed his third consecutive win at the Miami Grand Prix. McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri completed the Italian podium, finishing second and third respectively. Completing the top five were Mercedes team-mate George Russell and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
