NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2027 Revealed

Kevin Harvick Jeff Burton and Larry Phillips will be inducted soon into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

On Tuesday the NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel met in a closed-door session at the Charlotte Convention Center to deliberate on the 15 nominees. The votes of the 50-member panel determined this Class of 2027.

The panel consists of current living Hall of Fame members, track owners, media members, manufacturer representatives and reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson. Fans also got one collective vote collected through NASCAR.com.

The ballot counting was supervised by the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Harvick received 92 percent of the Modern Era ballot votes Burton 32 percent. Others receiving votes were driver Neil Bonnett, engine builder Randy Dorton and driver Greg Biffle. Phillips received 38 percent of the Pioneer ballot.

Biffle, Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Dorton, Ray Elder, Ernie Elliott, Randy Lajoie and Jack Sprague were also Modern Era inductees. Other Pioneer Ballot nominees were Ray Fox, Harry Hyde, Banjo Matthews and harb Nab.

Harvick is the 2014 Cup Series champion and a two-time Busch Series champion with 60 wins in the top division. Those wins include the 2007 Daytona 500 three wins in the Coca-Cola 600 two wins in the Southern 500 and three wins in the Brickyard 400.

He made his Cup Series debut with Richard Childress Racing in the unenviable position of replacing the late Dale Earnhardt Sr after his death at the Daytona 500. He joined Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, winning the championship right away and becoming one of the most successful drivers until 2023, with Rodney Childers by his side.

Burton also earned 21 Cup Series wins and 27 in the then-current O’Reilly Auto Parts Series while with Roush Racing and Richard Childress Racing. Burton retired from the Cup Series in 2013 and has been a driver analyst for NBC Sports and has played a behind-the-scene role as an intermediary between drivers and the sanctioning body.

Phillips has a NASCAR sanctioned short track and dirt track resume of more than 1000 wins and over 2000 overall. He won five national championships in the NASCAR Weekly Series.

Lesa France Kennedy also was named the recipient of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR. Other nominees were Alvin Hawkins, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, Les Richter and T. Wayne Robertson.

The Class of 2027 will be inducted during a ceremony at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Convention Center on Friday, Jan. 22, 2027.
