Barcelona are keen to sort out Marc Casado’s future early in the summer window. According to SPORT the midfielder is increasingly likely to leave the club before pre-season gets underway.
Several first team players are still on World Cup duty so the first batch of medicals will be limited.
Currently, players such as Wojciech Szczesny, Alejandro Balde, Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal and Casado are among those who will return earliest.
But Casado’s position appears to be heading quickly towards a departure.
Barcelona prepares for Casado departure
Midfielder has acknowledged that it has been increasingly difficult to get regular football at Barcelona as has been reported.
The La Masia graduate has fallen down the pecking order and now knows that a new challenge could be the best thing for his career.
It is not believed to have been an easy decision having risen through the ranks at Barcelona after arriving as a teenager.
Still all indications are that both player and club would now be open to a parting of ways this summer.
How about moving to Monaco?
A move to AS Monaco has been seen as the most advanced in that regard in recent weeks.
Reports have even claimed that an agreement was already in place between the player and the Ligue 1 side.
But his agent Jorge Mendes is believed to have put the Monaco move on hold because Casado could be part of a different deal in the offing involving Barcelona’s bid for Joao Cancelo from Al-Hilal.
In that case, the midfielder might be on his way to Saudi Arabia instead.
There are many caveats to his transfer but the fact is that Casado will leave Barcelona this summer.
