Gabby Williams, pictured during her debut season with the Golden State Valkyries, is set for Unrivaled next season.

Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams has signed a multi-year contract with Unrivaled and will make her debut in the league next season. The 29-year-old is set to join the Miami-based 3-on-3 competition when it tips off its third season in January.

Williams did not play in Unrivaled’s first two seasons, but the league said her debut is now locked in for the next campaign. Her specific team assignment will be announced later.

The move adds another established name to Unrivaled’s growing roster. Williams arrives with strong WNBA credentials and a broad international résumé, giving the league another player with both defensive pedigree and experience at the highest level.

Williams said she was excited to compete alongside some of the best players in the world and to keep improving her game. She also pointed to the chance to be part of a league that is helping push women’s basketball forward.

For the Valkyries, the deal keeps one of their most recognizable players in the spotlight during the WNBA offseason. For Unrivaled, it is another sign of momentum as the league continues to build for its third season
