Ferrari have confirmed they will be heading to the newest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar for a filming day in two days' time. The Spanish Grand Prix will be held at the Madring circuit in 2026. The Formula 1 weekend at the track is scheduled for 11-13 September.
Leclerc and Hamilton will be the first drivers to complete a full lap of the Madring circuit in a current Formula 1 car, after both stood on the podium at Silverstone. Back in 2025, Carlos Sainz did a showrun in a Williams on one of the straights of the circuit, before completing a lap of the entire circuit earlier this year in a Mustang.
Leclerc copied my setup for British GP win – Hamilton
The seven-time world champion said Leclerc "migrated" to his setup approach ahead of his first win of the season at the British Grand Prix.
Hamilton said: “We have really been making such great progress up until now. And the confidence I’ve got coming into this weekend is the simulator said that we should have started in a much different place with the set-up and my engineers and I decided to stay within the direction that we would normally go.
The sim would say to go, and then [it] ended up my philosophy and the direction that I was taking was ultimately the right one, and he migrated that way.
It’s nice to see the direction that I have pushed for is paying off and that we just have to continue to make changes and continue to push.
“We’ve got to keep bringing upgrades. "The Spa is going to be long straights but ultimately I've got to do a better job than I did this weekend," said the seven-time F1 world champion.
