Ian Machado Garry Reportedly Secured Major Payday After Challenging Makhachev For UFC Gold

Ian Machado Garry was unable to claim the welterweight title at UFC 330 but the Irish challenger is said to have gotten a big payday for his title challenge.

Garry fought Islam Makhachev in the main event in Philadelphia on August 15.

Makhachev dominated a lot of the fight with his wrestling and grappling and earned a unanimous decision victory but the outcome also was the 17th straight UFC win for the title.

There were no official commission numbers available right away, but Garry’s UFC 330 earnings were reported in multiple outlets to be in the high six figures.

It is not known exactly how much he will receive but one story suggested his possible compensation might be between $500,000 and $1.8 million.

And another rumor pegged Garry's contractual bout purse at around $200,000 before any further incentives or other rewards were taken into account.
