JBL Recalls Neville’s Huge Social Media Numbers And WWE’s Superhero Plans

Former WWE announcer JBL has stated that Neville had some really big social media stats in his early WWE main roster tenure.

JBL talked about Neville’s entrance in WWE on the Something to Wrestle podcast and how the organisation tracked social media impressions at that time.

When Neville debuted on the main roster, internal WWE reports that JBL obtained indicated that he was getting about twice as many impressions as other wrestlers.

JBL regarded the results as excellent and claimed they stood out in corporate meetings.

When JBL was in production and creative meetings for WWE and got a front row seat to how the company regarded Neville.

He added recalls Vince McMahon apparently had a specific character notion for the wrestler.

McMahon apparently intended Neville to be positioned as a superhero type, like Mighty Mouse.

JBL claimed Neville had the athleticism and physical style to fill that kind of role, while Rey Mysterio was already tied to a similar idea.

After becoming a big star in NXT, Neville made his way to the WWE main roster in 2015.

JBL also had positive personal comments about Neville, praising him as a world-class player and a pleasure to work with.

The statements give a glimpse of how Neville was seen behind the scenes and the potential that WWE saw in him.
