Jayden Reed injury: The Packers wide receiver is going to IR with a broken collarbone and is said to be hoping to be back in November

Reed hurt himself during the win over the Commanders on Thursday night.

After the game, coach Matt LaFleur announced that the Green Bay Packers' 27-18 triumph over the Washington Commanders came at a cost: wideout Jayden Reed broke his collarbone and would be put on injured reserve. NFL Media says that Reed will have surgery early next week, probably on Tuesday, and the team hopes he will be back in November.

Reed got hurt in the first quarter when he caught a 39-yard pass from Jordan Love, but it was called back because right tackle Anthony Belton was holding, and he was playing in place of Zach Tom, who was hurt. While making the tackle, safety Quan Martin crashed into Reed's right shoulder. People saw Reed favoring his shoulder as he departed the field.

At first, it wasn't clear if Reed would be able to play again, but before the second half started, the Packers were ahead 14-3, and Reed was officially ruled out. The Packers took the lead on their next drive, even though Reed was hurt. Love threw a short touchdown pass to Romeo Doubs.

Reed, who is 25 years old, is in his third season with the Packers. He was quite prolific in his first two seasons, catching 119 catches for 1,650 yards and 14 touchdowns. In Green Bay's Week 1 triumph over the Lions, he caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Reed is one of many Packers receivers, along with Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and youngsters Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. Tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave are also part of Green Bay's receiving corps. Kraft stepped up against the Commanders when Reed was absent, catching six catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, which was a career-high.
