A teenager wins the EBI title after easily defeating Bryce Mitchell of the UFC

Although Bryce Mitchell, a UFC fighter, is a very skilled grappler by MMA standards, he was completely outclassed when he switched to professional Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ)... by a teenager.

Mitchell participated in the EBI 25 lightweight event, which featured a few well-known BJJ competitors. Two-time ADCC trials champion Ethan Crelinsten, Polaris champion Keith Krikorian, and two-time IBJJF no gi world champion Gianni Grippo were in the 16-man bracket, but Mitchell was eliminated before he could face these seasoned pros.

At EBI 25, adolescent BJJ prospect Bryce Mitchell of the UFC was swiftly submitted.

Bryce Mitchell defeated a brown belt named JJ Bowers via a solid decision to win his debut bout. In regulation, he made a good armbar attempt, but he was unable to finish, therefore the fight went to overtime, where Mitchell prevailed by the fastest escape time.

However, the UFC fighter appeared to be in over his head when he met Landon Elmore, a 19-year-old BJJ prodigy, in the second round.

The grappling prowess was rather obvious the entire time. Elmore attempted a flying triangle in the first few seconds, but only gave up when Mitchell threatened to slam him out of bounds. After they were reset, Elmore simply switched to a heel hook finish after reaching Mitchell's legs with a k-guard entry.

Mitchell said after the fight that despite balancing his UFC career, he still wants to compete in grappling events. The veteran MMA fighter defeated Said Nurmagomedov via decision in his most recent UFC bout, which took place in July.

Gordon Ryan responds when Landon Elmore defeats all opponents to win the EBI title.

At EBI 25, Landon Elmore had the breakthrough performance of his short grappling career, and taking out Bryce Mitchell wasn't the only highlight. Including a massive heel hook victory against Keith Krikorian in the finals, the teenage sensation submitted every opponent he faced in the tournament.

Elmore, who is only 19 years old, won $20,000 and became the EBI lightweight champion with his four heel hook submission victories.

Gordon Ryan also gave "The Big Slime," who trains at New Wave / Kingsway, a lot of respect.

"This was Landon Elmore's first significant breakthrough performance!" Gordon Ryan posted a message on Instagram. "The regulation is 100% sub-rate! What a highlight reel!
