Lewis, the captain of the US Solheim Cup-winning team, is going to retire.

Stacy Lewis, the captain of the US team that won the Solheim Cup in 2024, says she will stop playing golf at the end of the LPGA season.

The 40-year-old won 13 LPGA victories, two of which were majors. Last year, she led the United States to victory over Europe in the Solheim Cup.

She was also the world's number one player for 25 weeks and won the LPGA Player of the Year award in 2012 and 2014.

Lewis did well, even though he was diagnosed with curvature of the spine when he was 11 and had to wear a back brace for 18 hours a day for the next seven years.

Lewis posted on social media, "I never would have thought that this journey playing golf would still be going on in 2025, but the time has come to put the clubs away."

"I'll miss the LPGA Tour family and this part of my life, but my body has told me it's time."

The Chevron Championship in 2011 and the women's British Open in 2013 were Lewis's two biggest wins.

She played for the US four times at the Solheim Cup and captained the team twice, including last year's thrilling 15½-12½ win in Virginia. She also tied for fourth place at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
