Floyd Mayweather says that a return to professional boxing is "on the table"

Floyd Mayweather, a pound-for-pound legend, is still making money off of his fame, even though he is retired and getting ready for another big exhibition fight. But the 48-year-old has now said that a return to professional sports might be in the works.

Mayweather, who is 50-0 with 27 KOs, kept his unblemished record while winning five weight classes in his professional career. He hung up his gloves for the third and what seems to be the last time after a dramatic knockout victory over Conor McGregor more than eight years ago.

But as his moniker suggests, "Money" is often swayed by money, and he has fought in an amazing eight exhibition fights since 2018, which is more than some current world champions.

It was revealed earlier this month that Mayweather would take part in what is probably his most successful and lucrative exhibition to date, a fight against heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, who has a record of 50 wins and 7 losses (44 KOs). The fight was called "Legend vs. Legend."

Mayweather told TMZ Sports that he was looking forward to the event and guaranteed boxing fans a night of thrilling fighting.

"I'm not really working out right now. The fight is in 2026, and we're still working on the details, but I'm sure it will be thrilling for the fans and the people.

"I just want to give the fans what they want to see: excitement." So, I'm confident that it's going to be a fun event that people from all around the world will appreciate.

"I'm glad I can still entertain people and that they can still see a little bit of [the old] me."

Then, when asked if he could be able to extend his famous 50-0 pro record, Mayweather said that there had been talks about a comeback and that it was "on the table."

"[A professional return] is on the table; there have been talks; it's possible."

Fans are looking forward to the Mayweather-Tyson fight in the spring of 2026. They believe it will be more fun than the last fight, when the now 59-year-old "Iron Mike" fought Jake Paul last November and, unsurprisingly, seemed like a ghost of his former self.
